BTS seeks member for paediatric sleep disorders guideline group

The British Thoracic Society (BTS) is inviting member to apply to join the Guideline on Paediatric Sleep Disorders development group.

The Guideline Development Group (GDG) is being led by co-chairs Dr Hazel Evans from Southampton Children’s Hospital and Dr Neil Gibson from the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. The guideline process is expected to take approximately 18 months, from September 2018 to March 2020, and the main steps in the guideline production process will be:

  • Performing a detailed literature review
  • Grading and synthesising the evidence
  • Drafting text and recommendations from the evidence
  • Consulting on the draft via open consultation/expert peer review
  • Editing the guideline in response to consultation feedback; and
  • Publication

GDG members will be involved in all stages of the process and are required to attend all GDG meetings which will be held at BTS Head Office, London.

Applications are invited from respiratory paediatricians with expertise in caring for children with sleep disordered breathing, neurobehavioural paediatricians, sleep physiologists, respiratory and neurology paediatric trainees and paediatric nurses.

Candidates should submit a short CV (maximum 2 A4 sides) and a short statement in support of their application (maximum 500 words). The closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm on Friday 8 June 2018.
