Bertrand Legrand studied medicine in Lille. Immediately following his residency, he passed his thesis and went to join his father at the Bourgogne ZUP medical practice in Tourcoing. For 15 years he's been working in this notoriously problematic, densely populated working-class neighbourhood, in the only medical practice that serves 8000 local residents. The TV programme "Envoyé Speciale" recently interviewed Dr. Legrand for an episode investigating the increasing number of violent attacks against General Practitioners. He now has the nickname "Dr. Brave".
